ABOUT OUR CHURCH
Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church (SHMBC) is a church with many years of history and a large active membership. The worship service has a blend of traditional and contemporary music and includes lay ministerial leadership. Services are upbeat encompassing praise and worship, choirs, dance and mime accompanied by a small band. Worship is led by a praise team and choir. There are currently two (2) morning worship services and Sunday School each Sunday. The congregation is made up of people of all ages and at all stages of spiritual maturity.
Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church currently has approximately fifteen (15) voluntary ministerial staff persons and about seventeen (17) fulltime and part-time office staff at various levels. The Senior Pastor leads the body with the assistance of the Deacon and Trustee Ministry who serve as accountability partners with the Pastor. Sweet Home Missionary Baptist church is affiliated with National Baptist Association Convention, USA.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of our flock; therefore he must fulfill all the requirements of a pastor,
teacher, leader and caregiver. He must be called by God. The evidence of this call is as follows:
• Confirmation of the call to ministry by other believers.
• Possession of the abilities necessary to serve (giftedness).
• A deep desire to serve.
• A lifestyle characterized by moral integrity.
• An ordained minister of the Gospel.

QUALIFICATIONS
A scriptural description of the qualifications can be best seen in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
Some qualifications include:
· Some seminary education and ordination are required for the position of Senior Pastor.
· A minimum of five (5) years of pastoral experience or leadership over a major ministry (non-administrative) of 400 or more in regular attendance.
· A demonstrated capability of leading, caring for, and developing spiritual maturity in a wide range of personalities and backgrounds
· A candidate must be in complete agreement with theconstitution of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church.
· A candidate must complete the Application Packet documents.
· A candidate must submit a copy of their academic credentials
THE POSITION OF SENIOR PASTOR
The Senior Pastor is the primary teacher of the church. He is responsible for the spiritual equipping and oversight of the entire congregation. He is directly responsible for the carrying out of his duties in the church (Acts 20:28; Ephesians 4:11-12; I Peter 5:2-4).
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Pastor are as follows:
· To pray (Acts 6:4).
· To prepare and to preach the Word (Acts 6:4; I Timothy 4:13; II Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:5).
· To protect the church from false doctrine (I Timothy 4:16; Titus 1:9).
· To see to the administration, oversight, and care of all church staff (Acts 20:34).
COMPENSATION
The position is full-time, salaried, and compensation is based on several factors that will be discussed during the process.
